Thieves broke into two cars in the village, police said.

A grey bag with binoculars inside was stolen from a red Rover 45 on Benmead Road just after midnight on Friday.

The owner of the car awoke and said two males wearing parka coats with fur hoods were seen running down the street, according to police.

Between 7pm on Thursday and 6am the next day a red Honda Civic was broken into on Exeter Road, where a mobile phone, briefcase and sat nav were taken from the boot, Thames Valley Police added.
