A 50-year-old man wept at Oxford Crown Court yesterday as he admitted fraudulently pocketing nearly £6m from Oxford’s Mini plant.
Johannes Franken, of Fockbury Road, Dodford, Worcestershire, pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud and one count of acquiring criminal property. He siphoned off £5,908,260 while working at the Cowley plant’s assembly and services division between 2011 and December last year.
Franken appeared via a video link from Bullingdon Prison, where he has been receiving psychiatric treatment.
Sentencing was adjourned until June 16 for a psychiatric report to be prepared.
