THREE horses died when a stable block was destroyed by fire at a stud farm in Aston Rowant in the early hours of today.
Firefighters are still damping down a stable block after a fire broke out in the early hours killing three horses.
The fire started at Aston House stud farm in Aston Rowant near Thame shortly after 4.30am.
It is understood two mares and a foal were killed by the blaze, which destroyed the stable block and roof.
A Land Rover Discovery was also damaged in the fire.
A spokeswoman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said: “Unfortunately three horses died as a result of the fire.
“About 20 firefighters from Thame, Watlington and The Slade fire station in Oxford attended.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire is still being carried out.”
