Tesco Metro in Bicester will close on April 4 with 56 people losing their jobs according to a union.
The supermarket giant announced the closure of 43 stores across the country today, including the Sheep Street store.
A spokesman said it would not affect the existing superstore at Bicester Village or the proposed new store in the town.
Usdaw national officer Pauline Foulkes said: “We are disappointed to hear that 56 staff at the Tesco Metro store in Bicester will lose their jobs.
“This is also devastating news for over 2,000 dedicated staff in the 43 Tesco stores across the UK, who have worked hard to make their shop viable during a difficult time for the company.
“We will support, advise and represent our members throughout this difficult period of uncertainty.”
