THESE are the schools that have so far announced they will be shut or partially shut because teachers are going on strike.

We will be updating this list as and when new information comes to hand. Below those that will be affected by the strike is a second list of schools that say they will be open.

Teachers who are members of the NUT and NASWUT are striking across the South East over pay, pensions and working conditions.

  • Fitzwaryn School - The following classes are closed on the 17th October: Rowan Class, Holly Class
  • Frank Wise School: The Post-16 unit, known as the Griffiths Centre, will be closed due to staff with children who will not or may not be able to attend other schools due to strike action being unable to commit to being present for work. The rest of the school, for children aged from two to 16 will remain open and lunches will be provided as normal.

  • Hanwell Fields Community School - Seahorses Class will only be open in the morning. The rest of the school will be open as normal.
