OXFORDSHIRE County Council has closed Oxford Road at Bagley Wood to investigate possible subsidence this afternoon.
Traffic had been reduced to single file for several hours after the problem was discovered, but the council has been forced to close it completely.
The problem patch of road is located about 300 yards from the Bagley Sawmill and close to the junction with Boars Hill.
Traffic will be diverted via Foxcombe Road, Fox Lane, B4017 White Cross, B4017 Wootton Road roundabout, Dunmore Road and A4183 Oxford Road.
