Police appeal after A40 smash
A woman is in a serious condition in Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital following an accident on the A40 today.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident at around 11.30am.The road was closed in both directions and not reopened until 2.30pm.
A blue Volvo heading towards Oxford was involved in a head-on collision witha green Peugeot between the Cassington turn-off and the Bampton roundabout.
A man and a woman in the Volvo were taken to hospital with minor injuries.The driver of the Peugeot, who need to be cut from her vehicle, suffered"serious injuries".
A Thames Valley Police spokesman told the Oxford Mail: "Officers would like to appeal for witnesses because at the time of the collision it's thoughtthere were quite a few drivers who might have seen it happen."
