Road works could spark delays
Motorists have been warned to expect delays when repair work on the A34 between Botley and Pear Tree begins.
Carriageway and bridge repair work will take place for approximately 40 nights, with speed restrictions and diversions in place during that time.
Work was due to start on Monday and will mean disruption at the following times:
Monday-Thursday nights -10pm-5am
Friday nights - 11pm-6am
Saturday nights - 10pm-7am
Sunday nights - 11pm-5am
During these times, the north and southbound bound carriageways between Botley (A420) and Pear Tree (A44) will be closed and a 40mph speed limit will be in place on the north and southbound carriageways between the Wytham Godstow bridge and Thames Wytham bridge.
Drivers have been warned that during certain stages of the work, 10mph limits will be enforced.
Meanwhile, four nights of repair work will take place on the southbound carriageway between Botley and Hinksey Hill, was also due to start on Monday.
Overnight closures and restrictions will take place during the hours outlined above.

The work needs to be done. OK.
Without checking the dates involved, I expect it is just coming into the tourist/holiday season with large vehicle movements travelling to their holiday destinations.
Great timing again, from the Highways Agency.
Unbelievable! Great planning!
